Picnic Report
- Thank you to the city for lending
us the microphone and speakers
- No one from the City came to the
Blair Hills Picnic, it was a very busy weekend
- Annie to ask for fee waiver from
the City next year
New Business
- Cheri and Antoinette will work on
welcome packets for new neighbors, block captains need to distribute
welcome packets to new neighbors
- There is a brand new Cedars Sinai
Urgent Care at 10100 Culver Blvd. Please visit their website for more
details - http://cedars-sinai.edu/Patients/Programs-and-Services/Medical-Delivery-Network/Urgent-Care/
- Antoinette has been looking into a
Parks and Recreation staffing request at Blair Hills Park, it was
recommended to develop a sub-committee to decide next steps. The
sub-committee would decide how to propose the request to the Culver City
council and determine the needs of those parents interested. Needs
discussed at the meeting included part-time staffing while school is out
and what would be available for rent. The question of volunteers operating
the recreation room was raised and should be discussed by the subcommittee.
It was suggested to create a flyer to ask about subcommittee interest from
parents for next summer.
- Co-President Annie will ask the
City for a community bulletin board for the Blair Hills Park
- Antoinette inquired about summer
movie nights in the park, the City explained that a private partner hosts
the events and selects the parks, it would be a $500 rental expense to
host per event. If there is interest in hosting at the Blair Hills Park we
would need to secure a regular park permit and if there was no ticket fee
then the City would possibly waive the fee if we asked.
Stoneview Update
- Karly is working on updates before
presenting to the Blair Hills Association
- The bridge across La Cienega will
be covered in trees
- Neighbors with close backyard
proximity to the project had a walk through with markers showing exactly
where construction will take place
Proposals
- Co-President Kerri proposed to
switch general monthly meetings to every other month unless there’s
something specific that needs to be discussed. It was proposed to meet in
the odd months as there are already no meetings in August or December.
- Discussion took place
- It was suggested there will be a
need for a change in the bylaws
- Come the October meeting, with more
members in attendance we will have a quorum to vote on this, 20 members
need to be present to reach quorum
- Kerri proposed a neighborhood
holiday party on Tuesday, December 18th, if there is interest we would
submit a request for Santa’s sleigh to come. It would be a cookies, coffee
and coco party.
The next meeting will be October
20th, tentatively the County will be in attendance to give a presentation on
the Stoneview Nature Center.
Meeting was adjourned at
8:40pm
